These heavy duty adjustable
guidescope rings provide an extremely solid mounting for auxiliary and
guide telescopes. They include several unique and useful features
which distinguish them from commonly available guidescope rings.
Multiple flats and mounting holes
machined around the periphery allow these rings to be coupled to each other,
permitting you to interconnect multiple auxiliary telescopes in a number of
configurations.
The construction of these rings
make them ideally suited for guidescopes and large or heavy auxiliary
telescopes. In order to minimize flexure they
are machined of extra-heavy aluminum (3/8" wall thickness!, 1.1" width!) and utilize
oversized stainless clamp screws. Two sizes are available, 5" ID (for
tube diameters of 60-110mm), and 6.5" ID (for tube diameters of 110-150mm).
The unique design of the
adjustable clamp screws incorporates large diameter non-marring nylon tips,
which are mounted on machined brass bearings. This allows the
tip to rotate, preventing any damage to the finish of your telescope.
